Lamps With Benefits
Lamps with benefits is a programme that offers an environmentally preferable solution for disposal of spent lamps.
Lamps with benefits is a safe disposal programme which is a cradle to cradle safe disposal service with a ZERO landfill concept. The disposal service meets international environmental and safety standards. The recycling system is designed to have zero impact on the environment whilst managing the hazardous material.
The programme provides equipment and safe storage and transport containers to enable clients to safely dispose of their spent lamps. The system caters for large and small generators equally.
Why segregate spent lamps from normal waste?
All fluorescent lamps and most high intensity discharge lamps contain a small amount of mercury, a natural occurring element that is critical for the energy-saving attributes of lamps. However, mercury is toxic and it is important that lamps and other products containing mercury be properly managed at the end of life to protect public health and the environment.
The programme is designed to be one-source stop to divert this hazardous waste away from the landfill.
